Seeing clearly is something the fortunate seldom think about. But for those with vision problems or inadequate or
no eyeglasses, the world can be a cold and unfriendly place, difficult to access and hard to navigate.
Acoma Optical has been donating glasses for over 30 years and has now founded a non-profit called Vision for
Santa Fe to continue to help members of our community in such need.
Through the Vision for Santa Fe program, each month one of the many health and social services charities we
partner with sends up to 15 pre-screened clients to us. They range from homeless families with children and elementary
school students, to challenged veterans and people with special needs. The visitors receive free vision evaluations
and optometrist examinations, and are fitted for free glasses if needed. A variety of frames is available, and members
of our staff work with each recipient to ensure a professional comfortable fit.
To help make the day a pleasure as well as a service Vision for Santa Fe partners with Lino Pertusini owner of
Pizzeria Da Lino and Buddy Roybal of Coronado Paint to provide lunch for all. The Santa Fe County Health Van,
another Vision for Santa Fe partner, is often on hand to provide free health screenings and flu shots.
Your gift will help us continue to reach clients of Boys & Girls Club of Santa Fe, Bienvenidos, St. Elizabeth Shelter,
Interfaith Community Shelter, Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families, Las Campanas Compadres, and many others.
Join us, and help bring clear vision to everyone.
